STAR SHINE

by Louise Bartholomew

Long ago, the star

illumed the night, leading

Wisdom, Peace and Love

to the manger

wherein lie

Christ, newborn.

In this New Year of 2010

May this star

illume our way

as we strive to bring

Wisdom, Peace and Love

to our heart's lowly manger

wherein lies

Christ newborn!

Moving through space

With the speed of thought..

Her light as bright

As an evening star..

Possessed of a love so wondrous

Becoming more of "The Light" she sought..

Taking her place in a galaxy..

One, perhaps, of billions more..

Floating, flying, joyously spinning

Aware that such was just the beginning…

NOW HEAR THIS

By Louise Bartholomew

In these times

Of doubt and fear

These old truths

We must hold dear

Remember, man’s extremity is

God’s opportunity!

IT'S UP TO YOU

by Louise Bartholomew

Your soul doesn't have to worry

about getting hit

crossing the street

going bankrupt,

or having a heart attack.

Your body doesn't have to worry

either

if you cross on the green light,

save some don't spend all,

and eat prudently,

give up stress.

Keep body and soul together, the

choice is yours!

SOUL

by Marie Hall

He stands there, his arms

outstretched towards the sky.

His song vibrates through

the rafters touching every heart.

So moved are they who listen

that they cry.

While some discover the God

he sings about is real,

right here, not set apart.

They feel the singing as it warms

a path so deep within.

They long to go there,

to find promise, to reach the goal

For now they know it's not about sin.

It's in the feelings and it's all about love, all about soul.

ROLL AWAY THE STONE

by Marie Hall

I often think of that first Easter morn

When the stone was rolled away

                                      and they found Jesus gone

There was nothing left except the shroud

                                      They had wrapped him in

And a kind angel, who spoke ever so gently to them

"You won't find Him here for He is risen".

I think how wonderful it would be if we could

                                       escape our prison

When our faith is weak and things are wrong

And we feel too much alone

Hear the voice within us saying,

                                      "Just roll away the stone".

EVERLASTING FAITH

by Tiffany Zills

Daily intercessions of my faith

have been evoked by my loyalty

As regression had turned

my weaknesses to graze

far beyond the contradictions

of my beliefs,

but my soul entwines with praise.

Embracing the occurrences

brought forth by heart

beyond my doubts I lie

pushing forth through the

barriers beyond my smooth road,

but with hope and love I fly.

TOUCH

by Louise Bartholomew

In the midst

of pain

Does the hem

of the garment

Seem too far

to reach!

Breathe deeply, stretch,

touch

and be made

whole!

ALL IS QUIET

IN THE COUNTRY

by Marie J. Ross

Sitting on my back porch

I hear the purr,

the purr of God's silent breath

through the birch tree forest.

Russet mounds open their doors

for crisp autumn leaves blotches

of chartreuse tracing pathways.

From the marsh a fishpond soaks

in mossy robe, where in the peak of

tranquility, I hear a fish flap bubbles

to the surface.

I scan the landscape connected to winter's

last flare, the lords white bed upon the

earth, and through the hazy clouds a pillow

of stillness speaks to the rolling hills as

lofty trees reach for warming sun to

pirouette through their branches.

And I sit beguiled by the beauty that dwells,

finding myself watching shapes of twilight

as I ponder, will these awesome splendors

always be a quiet humming through my ears?

TAKE A DIP

by

Louise Bartholomew

The mountain pool

refreshes, restores

momentarily

The pool of divinity within

refreshes, restores

eternally.

AT LAST

by Holly Heiser

God is such a patient teacher

For this struggling

slow-learning creature

It's dawning on this child at last

To give up patterns of the past

What I groped for from without

Is not what life is all about

Within, with God my peace is found

There happiness & love abound

Simple discovery yet is profound,

Thank you, God

I've finally come 'round!!

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW

by Marie J. Ross

When I open my window

his light is my muse, air

becomes my eyes blinking

on his splendors.

I see the tall oaks shade like

his brush painting strength

on their roots and branches

like father time.

Mother spring brings blossom

in collage of hue, she swings her

skirt and they become flowers,

little hats and colorful blouses

swirling scent, the creator's gift

to us.

Outside my window his light is

my pen the eyes to his magnificent

beauty and sounds of nature.

And I thank him for blessing me

with the wonder of his muse.

CHOICE

by Louise Bartholomew

The Lord created you and you

and me

Invited us to share

eternity

Commanded us to love

each other

Not only self

Also brother

How do we this commandment keep?

Your choice

To have as your goal

Lip service or soul

And so, shall you reap!

HOW GOD AND FARMERS FEEL

by Louise Bartholomew

I ate a peach, and just for fun

I stuffed the pit into an earth filled

pot. Whimsy was rewarded.

It grew--a twig pushed up

a leaf fluttered in the breeze.

Amazed, I smiled

and blessed it.

Another season and there is

a blossom on the branch.

Bees hover, then depart.

A miracle grows--A

peach appears!

And I know how

God-and farmers feel.
