Hello
Friends,
Summer
has begun, and all around we see children out of school and people
taking vacations, visiting family, and relaxing the pace of work to
match the heat of the season. Do you remember the lazy days in your
childhood when you had the luxury of simply doing nothing? Remember the
time when you could be busy with watching a spider build a web? Remember
when you could sit under a tree with a friend and talk about nothing
much and it would take the whole afternoon?
I
invite you to take time this summer and give yourself the treat of
more space to just be you with no expectations or pressure! What would
happen if you just sat on the porch or under a tree and enjoyed the day?
Oh, yeah, that would mean without our laptop, cell phone, texting, in
all the ways we communicate today!
In
Unity we talk about taking time "In the Silence" when we
simply let go of all worrying, stewing, or thinking, even about good
things. We literally let go and let the stillness nourish our souls. It
may last for a minute, or perhaps 30 minutes.
What
we notice after a time of Silence, is that we may be more refreshed, or our
thinking is clearer. We might even discover a point of view or even an
answer that we had not thought of before!
It
is a sure thing that if a situation in our life is too black and white,
the opposing arguments are too strong, that there is another solution
that takes into account both "sides", and moves on to a new
solution that is much better than we had been able to see before!
This
magical place is often found after Silence, not thinking about the
problem or the solution, but instead simply opening to Spirit without
expectations.
And,
giving yourself these moments every day, more than once a day, leaves us
open to the guidance we need for a joyful, prosperous, harmonious life!
All
this simply from paying attention to our natural inclination to "take it
easy" and enjoy Summer!
Light,
Love, and the Ease of Summer,
Marylee
